Description

Takahashi have a 25% sale on and I bought myself an FS-60Q. I pointed at the moon and it gave me the best visual lunar observations I have had, and I own an FC-100DZ and a Mewlon 180C. The detail even with a 40mm Pentax XW was extraordinary.

This of course led me to try for an image. The image shown here is the result using an ASI174MM monochrome camera. While not nearly as good as what I see in the eyepiece it's a major step forward in lunar imaging for me.

The relatively narrow (60mm) aperture allows lunar visual observation without a moon filter and the optics of this fluorite doublet refractor captures impressive detail.
